Where we commit to progress.
CONTECH is committed to measurable environmental, social and operational improvement. We will establish 2026 as our initial ESG baseline year and work toward the following targets by 2030.

Cut carbon intensity
Measure Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions across offices, sites, equipment, vehicles and directly controlled operations.
- Reduce combined Scope 1 & 2 emissions intensity by 30% by 2030 vs the 2026 baseline.
- Measure carbon intensity as tonnes CO₂e per EUR million of revenue.
- Achieve an average emissions-intensity reduction of at least 5% per year from 2027.
- Complete annual Scope 1 & 2 emissions inventories across all controlled operations.
Use cleaner site energy
Increase energy efficiency and transition offices, sites and operations toward renewable and lower-carbon sources.
- Source at least 50% of purchased electricity from renewable or certified lower-carbon sources.
- Reduce diesel and other fossil-fuel consumption intensity by 25% vs the 2026 baseline.
- Complete energy-use monitoring for 100% of major projects.
- Assess temporary solar, battery storage, electric equipment and lower-emission machinery for every major project.
Divert waste from landfill
Apply the waste hierarchy — prevent waste, reduce material use, and increase reuse, recovery and recycling.
- Divert at least 90% of non-hazardous construction & demolition waste from landfill.
- Require a Waste Management Plan for 100% of projects over EUR 1 million.
- Track construction waste by type, weight or volume on all major projects.
- Reduce construction waste per EUR million of project value by 15% vs the 2026 baseline.
- Ensure 100% of hazardous waste is handled by authorised contractors with documentation.
Use water efficiently
Monitor water consumption, prevent avoidable losses and implement water-efficient construction practices.
- Reduce potable-water consumption intensity by 20% vs the 2026 baseline.
- Monitor water consumption on 100% of major projects.
- Implement water-efficiency measures on at least 80% of active sites where feasible.
- Develop water-management plans for projects in water-stressed areas.
Reduce incidents, pursue zero harm
Maintain a safety-first culture protecting employees, subcontractors, visitors, clients and communities.
- Maintain zero work-related fatalities each year.
- Reduce the Lost-Time Injury Frequency Rate to ≤0.50 per million hours by 2030.
- Provide site-specific HSE induction to 100% of personnel before they start work.
- Ensure 100% of major projects run under an approved Project HSE Plan.
- Provide each operational employee at least 16 hours of formal HSE training a year.
- Investigate and document 100% of lost-time, recordable and high-potential near-miss incidents.
Create local value and build skills
Use our projects to generate employment, strengthen local capability and support responsible local supply chains.
- Achieve at least 60% local workforce participation, subject to availability and client requirements.
- Direct at least 40% of addressable procurement to local or regional suppliers and subcontractors.
- Provide employees an average of at least 20 hours of training per year.
- Ensure at least 5% of the annual project workforce is in apprenticeships, internships or structured skills programmes.
- Assess 100% of critical suppliers against H&S, environmental, labour and integrity requirements.
How we govern delivery.
2026 serves as the initial baseline year. During the baseline period we will collect and validate data covering emissions, energy, fuel, waste, water, safety, employment, training and procurement. Progress will be:
- Monitored quarterly by responsible operational functions;
- Reviewed annually by executive management;
- Reported through an annual ESG / sustainability progress report;
- Supported by documented calculation methodologies and defined data owners;
- Recalibrated where acquisitions, major business changes or material data-quality improvements affect comparability.
Where complete 2026 data is unavailable, the first full year of reliable, representative data will be adopted as the adjusted baseline, with the reason disclosed transparently.
